Taq DNA Polymerase

Description

NAME Taq DNA Polymerase
Source
E.coli
Description
Taq DNA polymerase is a thermostable DNA polymerase I enzyme named after the thermophilic eubacterial microorganism Thermus aquaticus, from which it was originally isolated. It is approximately 95 KDa, replicates DNA at 74°C, and exhibits a half-life of 40 minutes at 95°C. The enzyme catalyses the polymerization of nucleotides into duplex DNA in the presence of magnesium and possesses exonuclease activity. It is highly recommended for use in PCR.
