Dr Chander Puri has over four decades of experience working for academic, and research institutions as well as biotechnology and diagnostic industries. He had superannuated from the services of Indian Council of Medical Research as Director of National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai. Thereafter, he has worked as Chief Executive Officer at Yashraj Biotechnology Ltd; Pro Vice Chancellor (Research), MGM Institute of Health Sciences; Chief Executive Officer, Aspira Pathlab and Diagnostics Ltd; and Group Director, Yashraj Group of Companies.

Dr Chander Puri holds MSc (Honors), Ph.D. Degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and pursued his postdoctoral studies at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden; and Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, USA. He has also worked as Acting Programme Manager for Asia and the Western Pacific, UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction, World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr Puri is an Elected Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India and Elected Fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences. He has published over hundred research papers in peer reviewed national and international journals of repute. He was also the Chief Editor of MGM Journal of Medical Sciences. He is a recipient of Population Control and Family Planning Award, Instituted by Labhsetwar Trust, USA; ‘Smt Swaran Kanta Dingley Oration Award’ of the Indian Council of Medical Research in the field of New Technologies for Fertility Regulation; and ‘Tilak Venkoba Rao Award’ of the Indian Council of Medical Research in the field of Reproductive Physiology.
