Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded(FFPE) blocks are prepared from fresh tumor or normal tissues by formalin treatment following by permanently embedding them in paraffin wax. The resultant FFPE blocks can be sectioned and used for immunohistological analysis, transcriptome and gene expression analysis, spatial transcriptomics, tumor profiling and multiplex immunofluorescence

Characterization Criteria

Donor age, sex, ethnicity, weight, height, smoking status, other information




1 tissue piece per block, minimum 50 sections of 5 um thickness possible per block

Note- Tissue surface area might differ from donor to donor depending on tumor size.

Representative H&E images of colon cancer patient’s adjacent normal tissue biopsy exhibit colorectal pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium, no cell atypia. Whereas tumor biopsy from the same patient shows loss of normal glandular architecture, marked nuclear atypia with prominent nucleoli and a high nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio, all of which is a hallmark of cancer/ cellular transformation (Scale - 200 um).
