This conference poster highlights the development of YBL’s Multiplex HIV (1&2), HBV, HCV Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) RT-PCR Kit, designed to enhance blood safety through early and accurate detection of major blood-borne viral infections. HIV-1, HIV-2, Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) are highly contagious pathogens transmitted through contaminated blood or body fluids, making reliable screening essential for safe blood transfusion.

The multiplex RT-PCR kit enables simultaneous qualitative detection of HIV-1, HIV-2, HBV, and HCV using specific primers and probes with RNaseP as an internal control. It is compatible with open RT-PCR platforms and supports multi-channel detection for efficient testing. The kit demonstrated strong analytical performance with high sensitivity (96.19%) and specificity (97.14%), validated using clinical samples in a CDSCO-approved laboratory.

Developed under the Make in India initiative by Yashraj Biotechnology Ltd., this innovative multiplex assay provides a reliable and efficient solution for early viral detection and improved blood transfusion safety.
