Test hair growth on Indian donor-derived human hair follicles

ExFollicle™ is an ex vivo human hair follicle assay service designed to evaluate the efficacy of hair-growth and anti-hair-loss test substances on viable hair follicles. All tissue samples are IRB-approved and obtained with informed consent from healthy Indian male donors aged 25 to 40.

Frequently-Asked Questions

  • How long can hair follicles stay in culture?

Upto 9 days i.e. the longest study window available.

  • How many molecules fit in one study?

Four to Five, each in triplicate per timepoint.

  • What controls are used in the study?

Untreated hair follicles, run with the same number of replicates as each treatment group. A vehicle control can be added as an option.

  • How long does a study take?

About 3-4 weeks for a typical study, counted from the day the follicles are collected.

  • What should I send for the study?

Bring us isolated molecules or formulation. Come with what you have, and we discuss the dose and study plan together before the study starts.

  • Can you study cell proliferation or cell death?

Yes. Staining can be tuned for these readouts within your study.

  • Which hair follicles do you culture?

Whole hair follicles from male donors around 25-40 years age range. Each hair follicle passes a quality check before study initiation.
